Tanning Tips

Before Tanning

In order to achieve the best results from your spray tan, it is recommended that you:

  • Exfoliate and moisturise your body one to two days leading up to your tan.  If you intend to use Ecotan, be sure to leave at least 24 hours between exfoliating and the time of your spray tan.

  • Pay particular attention to dry areas such as elbows, knees, ankles and tops of your toes.

  • Hair removal such as shaving or waxing should be done the day before your tan (or at least 24hr prior, if using EcoTan), to ensure your skin's pores have had time to close.  This will avoid tiny spots occurring.

  • Please remove all traces of moisturiser, make-up and perfumes prior to your spray tan, as they can reduce the effectiveness of your spray tan.

What Should I Wear?

During your spray tan, feel free to wear whatever you feel comfortable in, such as underwear, bikini, G-string, or ladies (only) may wear nothing at all if they prefer. However we strongly recommend for health reasons that clients wear underpants or a g-string. Your spray tan Technician will also offer protective eyewear, nasal filters/face masks and disposable underwear as standard safety practice

If you need to wear clothes directly after your tan has dried, we recommend dark, loose fitting clothes.

You may experience some of the tan rubbing off on your clothes before the tan has been rinsed off. This should easily wash out of most fabrics, however

lighter coloured materials, including leather, may stain.

After Tan Care

Leave your tan to dry completely. Your technician will advise how long you need to wait before you are able to wet your skin.

  • It is recommended not to exercise or carry out any activities that may cause perspiration between the tanning and showering phase.

  • When showering it is normal for some of the initial bronzer to wash off. Your tan will still continue to develop after showering.

  • To keep your tan looking great for longer, we recommend moisturising twice daily.

  • Avoid long baths, spas and swimming sessions, as well as exfoliating products.

Removing your Spray Tan

To remove your tan:

  • If possible, prep your skin the night before by rubbing oil, such as massage or olive oil onto the skin.

  • The next day soak in a warm bath or shower.

  • Exfoliate your skin by gently massaging the skin using an exfoliating glove and a body scrub.

  • Exfoliating gloves can be purchased from most supermarkets and chemists.
